Use Connectors
Use Connectors
Connectors are optional. You install and enable them locally, then restart the agent host so it can rebuild its tool catalog.
Inspect before enabling
Always inspect a manifest before installing it. This shows the connector’s identity, version, publisher, endpoint, permissions, and tools.
wallet connectors inspect ./connector.jsonReview the following carefully:
- publisher identity and connector ID
- public HTTPS endpoint
- requested network hosts
- trust class and whether transaction intents are declared
- each tool’s purpose and input/output schema
Do not install a manifest received from an untrusted source merely because its name resembles a known protocol.
Install and enable
Install the inspected manifest and enable the exact version:
wallet connectors install ./connector.json --enable --yeswallet connectors listRestart OpenClaw, Codex, Claude Code, or Hermes after the change. Enabled read-only tools will then be available to the host.
See installed tools and diagnose a connector
wallet connectors toolswallet connectors info com.example.protocolwallet connectors doctordoctor checks the local registry and the connector configuration. If an
endpoint, schema, identity, or response no longer matches the pinned manifest,
AgentLayer rejects the connector response rather than passing it through to the
agent.
Disable or remove
Disable a connector whenever you no longer want its tools available:
wallet connectors disable com.example.protocolDisabling preserves the pinned manifest. To delete that installed version, it must first be disabled:
wallet connectors remove com.example.protocol --version 1.0.0 --yesRestart the host after enabling or disabling a connector.
Local registry and privacy
Connector registry state is stored locally under:
$OPENCLAW_HOME/agent-wallet-runtime/connectorsThe registry holds connector metadata and pinned manifests, not wallet keys or credentials. A connector receives wallet address context only when its manifest explicitly allows it.
